”You don’t have to have a lot to be able to share,
All you need is a little consideration and a loving heart.”
Kim Tae-heung, Park Ki-soon (Parents of student Kim Jae-young, freshman of ‘17)

When we learned about the Daily Fruit campaign to provide fresh fruit to the student cafeteria every morning for KAIST students, we decided to participate, hoping to help KAIST students start their day full of energy with a healthy meal.

Thanks to the kindness of KAIST, we were able to stay a night after arriving the day before and tour the campus, eat breakfast and enjoy a meaningful experience at KAIST.
When the Director of the KAIST Global Leadership Center(GLC) explained that the program was started not just to provide fresh fruit but to make sure that students ate breakfast every day, we could feel his sincere concern for the students’ health and wellbeing.

Touring the campus with our student guides, we felt proud that our children were studying in a wonderful environment. Our worries about an environment with only engineering students were put to rest seeing the consideration given to emotional and sentimental aspects as well. We were grateful for the system allowing students to enjoy their leisure time on campus with cultural activities, sports facilities and clinic services.

In the afternoon, we attended an invitation event for parents at which we were given an introduction to the academic program and various student societies. We saw how students were able to enjoy learning in a free environment without losing focus.
In particular, we appreciated the proctor program, tutoring, coaching and student guidance programs to help freshmen adjust to life at KAIST in their first year, as unique and outstanding programs only seen at KAIST.
We were also grateful to the President, the Director of the Office of Student Life and the many professors for staying with us for the entire duration of the event, communicating with the parents and taking close interest in the student dormitories and cafeterias.

When you look at the world with gratitude, you feel grateful for everything. When you take the great environment for granted, you lose that much appreciation for life.
I think you don’t need to have a lot to be able to share, all you need is a little consideration and a loving heart.

We asked our child to participate in team KAIST, hoping the experience will cultivate a warm heart towards life. We are also grateful for the opportunity to participate in the Daily Fruit campaign for the health of the students.

We hope that our children will be grateful for their environment, health and talent as they fully enjoy all that university life has to offer, and grow to be outstanding individuals contributing to society through their achievements.
